AHAM eBOOKS
This notice explains the information used to operate Aham eBooks and the choices available to readers.
We process account identifiers, email address, profile name, purchase and entitlement records, reader preferences, progress, bookmarks, notes, support messages, and metadata about personal PDFs you upload.
Information is used to authenticate users, fulfil purchases, provide downloads and reader continuity, prevent abuse, support customers, maintain security, and meet accounting or legal obligations.
Google may provide sign-in, Razorpay processes checkout, Vercel hosts the application and private file storage, and database providers store application records. When you import a Dropbox shared link, Aham eBooks retrieves that file from Dropbox and stores a private copy in your library. On supported desktop versions of Chrome, translation is performed by Chrome's on-device language model. Aham eBooks does not send the selected passage or Reader Mode book text to a translation API.
Aham eBooks does not receive or store full card or bank credentials. Razorpay handles payment details under its own privacy terms. We retain order identifiers, status, amount, currency, and entitlement records.
Personal PDFs are stored in private file storage and download or Reader requests require authorization for the owning account. When Reader Mode is prepared, the server reads the private PDF and stores available extracted text, extraction status, and page count in the account's private library record. The file and extracted text are not end-to-end encrypted, so do not upload highly sensitive, regulated, or secret material.
On-device Chrome translation does not send selected text to an Aham translation API. Operational providers and authorized administrators may still process account data where necessary to host, secure, troubleshoot, or comply with legal obligations.
Purchase records may be retained for legal and accounting needs. Reader state and personal uploads remain until you delete the PDF from My Reading or submit an account request. A successful in-app PDF deletion removes the active private file and the database record containing extracted Reader Mode text. Provider backups, security logs, and legally required records may follow separate retention periods and are not available through the reader.
